Former Judge Theresa Brennan of Bath, MI; ethical troll

The state of Michigan provided Theresa M. Brennan with a law license in 1978 after she graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law.

The Judicial Tenure Commission found Terry guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with integrity
  • Failed to avoid impropriety
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in improper campaign activity
  • Failed to disclose the extent of her relationship with a witness
  • Failed to disclose the extent of her relationship with attorney and attorney's law firm in several cases over which judge presided
  • Failed to immediately disqualify herself from her own divorce proceeding
  • Destroyed evidence in her own divorce proceeding
  • Allowed court staff to work on her judicial campaign during work hours
  • Made false statements to the Judicial Tenure Commission while under oath (Up yours, said Terry!)
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the Michigan Supreme Court punished Terry by ordering her to be removed from the bench.

And lastly, because Judicial Misfits in Michigan are held to a much lower standard of conduct, Terry has never been charged with perjury for testifying falsely.

As we speak (ca. March 2023), Terry practices her so-called brand of law at 15222 classic Drive in Bath, Michigan.
