Former Judge Donald Currie of Indianapolis; drunken convict

The state of Indiana presented Donald Eugene Currie with a law license in 1987 after he graduated the University of Indiana School of Law.

The Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications found Donnie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was a Carroll County Circuit Court judge.

  • Donnie was arrested for Public Intoxication after a police officer observed him outside his car near Interstate 65
  • Donnie later pled guilty in the Boone Circuit Court to Public Intoxication
  • Violated the high standards of conduct expected of Indiana’s judges
  • Failed to uphold the integrity and independence of the judiciary

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Chrisby gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

And lastly: Donnie is lucky that he wasn’t a judge in New Mexico and found guilty of driving under the influence. In New Mexico, drunken judges are either removed from the bench and/or forced to resign.

As we speak (ca. March 2023), Donnie practices his so-called  brand of law with the Currie Legal Group LLC at 36 South Ritter Avenue in Indianapolis, Indiana.
