Judge Michael Allen of Tallahassee, FL; ethical ogre

The State of Florida provided Michael E. Allen with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from Stetson University School of Law.

FYI:Mikey has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for thirty-six (36) years from the time he received his law license in 1975. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Tallahassee area was about to offer him a good paying job.

The Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission charged Mikey with and/or adjudged him guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Misconduct would impair Floridians’ confidence in the integrity of the judicial system and in Mikey as a judge
  • Engaged in conduct unbecoming a member of the judiciary
  • Misconduct demonstrated unfitness to hold the office of judge
  • Failed to respect and honor the judicial office as a public trust
  • Failed to strive to enhance and maintain confidence in our legal system
  • Made a statement with reckless disregard as to its truth or falsity concerning the integrity of Judge Kahn
  • Failed to maintain the respect due to courts of justice and judicial officers
  • Failed to abstain from all offensive personality
  • Violated various provision of his oath of office

As a direct consequence of this misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. October 2020), Mikey continues to sit as a First District Court of Appeal judge in Tallahassee, Florida.
