Judge Jesse Harris of Tulsa; pervert, scofflaw

Sadly, Judge Jesse Harris sits on the District Court in Tulsa.

In April 2008, Judge Jesse Harris was charged with exposing himself to two women (one was his girlfriend) in a hotel parking lot, a felony in Oklahoma. Of course he vehemently denied that he had so acted. Judge Harris said he spoke to his former girlfriend from his car for several minutes and then left. Harris went on to deny that he ever met his ex-girlfriend’s friend and say he only waved to her from his car. Waved what Judge Harris? (Tulsa World)

After his arrest and booking into the local hoosegow in Tulsa, Judge Harris was released. However, he wasn’t required to post any bond even that each felony charge carried with it a $5,000 surety bond requirement. This is in keeping with the fact that judges are held to a “lower standard of conduct” then we are.

Deferred Prosecution Agreement
As could be expected, after spewing forth false denials, Judge Harris eventually copped a plea with the Tulsa District Attorney. In so doing, he pleaded no contest (same as guilty) to a criminal misdemeanor of “Gross Injury of the Public Peace.” The June 15, 2009 “Agreement of Deferred Prosecution,” which was signed by Harris states in part:

“The District Attorney hereby states that he has sufficient evidence at this time to charge the accused with crimes of: “Gross Injury of the Public Peace a Misdemeanor”

“On or about the 9th day of March, 2008, by willfully and wrongfully committing an act that was grossly injurious to public peace at the Extended Stay Motel, 8201 E. Skelly Drive, Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma.”

So-called Punishment meted out to Judge Jesse Harris

Judge Harris was required to reimburse the DA’s office $1,200 for witness expenses; however, he was never fined. In a lame attempt at levity, Harris was ordered to successfully complete the “Judges Helping Judges” program. It should more aptly be called “Perverts Helping Perverts” and/or “Judicial Misfits Helping Judicial Misfits.”

As we speak (May 2010) Harris remains on the bench in Tulsa. What a joke!
