Judge Nora Longoria of McAllen, TX; drunken scofflaw

The state of Texas presented Scott Drazewski with a law license in 1990 after she graduated from thel University of Texas Law School.

On July 13, 2014, Nora was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and for driving 69 mph in a 45 mph zone.

While slurring her words, Nora begged the officers for leniency and went on to say:

  • “Please let me go home.”
  • “I live a couple of miles away.”
  • “You are going to ruin my life.”
  • “I worked hard for 25 years to be where I am today.”

Nora also refused to take a Breathalyzer test after failing several sobriety tests. She was later released from jail after posting a $2,000 bond.

Some local officials reacted to Nora’s DUI by calling for her to resign or for her to be immediately removed. Since this is likely the best paying job Nora has ever had, its not likely that she’ll be resigning anytime soon.

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court mete out to Nora the Drunk.

As we speak (ca. August 2014), Nora remains sitting (when sober) as a Justice on the 13th Court of Appeals, Place No. 2.
