Judge James Lucas of El Paso, TX; ethical troll

The state of Texas provided James Darrell Lucas with a law license in 1985 after her graduated from the University of Houston School of Law.

The State Commission on Judicial Conduct found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to withdraw as attorney of record in at least six cases pending before the Eighth Court of Appeals until ordered to do so by the Court in June 2021 (Up yours, said Jimmy!)
  • Failed to withdraw from State v Fabian Garcia. Cause No. 20160D05455, in the Criminal District Court No. 1, El Paso County, Texas, although the court has not ruled on a pending motion to suppress
  • Failed to withdraw from State v. Amado Flores-Rivera, Cause No 3591, because he believed he had potentially exculpatory evidence to share with any attorney appointed to replace him
  • Illegally engaged in the practice of law while a sitting judge

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (ca. September 2022), Jimmy practices his so-called idea of jurisprudence as an Association Judge, 388th District Court in El Paso, Texas.
