Former Judge Etta Mullin of Duncanville, TX; ethical gremlin

The state of Texas presented Etta J. Mullin with a law license in 1991 after she graduated from Texas Southern University Law School.

The Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct found Etta guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to treat litigants/attorneys with dignity and respect
  • Improperly interfered with disqualification motions filed against her
  • Improperly required some defendants to pay portion of fines or costs before she would accept their plea bargains
  • Engaged in a willful and persistent pattern of misconduct
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to properly communicate with attorneys and/or their clients
  • Failed to comply with the law (scofflaw)
  • Ordered 8-month pregnant woman handcuffed to courtroom chair
  • Failed to maintain competence in the law (moron)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Judge Mullin by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2015), Etta practices in Duncanville, Texas.
