U.S. Circuit Judge Richard A. Paez of Los Angeles; greedy ingrate

The state of California provided Richard A. Paez with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from the  University of California at Berkeley Law School.

In 1994 President Clinton was duped into appointing Richard A. Paez to a seat on the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. President Clinton was duped again in 2000 into appointing Paez to a seat on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in Los Angeles. Richard didn’t receive either of these appointments because he was the most qualified candidate in the greater Los Angeles area. He received them because he had a proven track record as a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

Judge Paez is yet another ungrateful loser who had the temerity to become a plaintiff in a lawsuit against the United States (that’d be us) wherein it is claimed that Congress violated the compensation clause of the constitution by barring cost-of-living adjustments. This laughable argument has already been turned down by the Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court several years ago.

This ungrateful ingrate has the audacity to assert that he’s entitled to more than the $174,000 a year that he is already paid. In addition to his underserved federal salary, Richard also receives a pension from the State of California, which is estimated to be around $65,000 a year. Apparently Richard thinks we should all feel sorry for him since his annual earnings are only $240,000 a year. Almost makes ya wanna cry, right?

Of course Dick could always take a hike and seek private employment if he isn’t satisfied with $174,000 a year. The problem is that no self-respecting law firm in the greater Los Angeles area is about to offer Dick a job paying more than what he earns now.

What is truly galling is the fact that Wallace isn’t required to pay even one cent into the cost of his 100% lifetime pension. Why aren’t Congress and more importantly the Tea Party legislators raising hell about this abusive giveaway of taxpayer money?
