U.S. Circuit Judge Haldane R. Mayer of D.C.; lifetime porker, ingrate

Robert Haldane Mayer received his law license from the Virginia Supreme Court in 1971 after graduating from the College of William and Mary School of Law.

In 1987 President Reagan was duped into nominating Mayer to a seat on the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Since receiving his law license in 1971, Judge Mayer has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough. For the last 38 out of 40 years, Bobby has collected a check from the federal government.

Bobby is personally involved as a plaintiff in a lawsuit against the United States (that’d be us) wherein it is claimed that Congress violated the compensation clause of the constitution by barring cost-of-living adjustments. This hyperbolic argument has already been turned down by the Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court several years ago.

This ingrate has the audacity to assert that he’s entitled to more than the $184,500 a year that he is already paid. For the last couple of years, Mayer has been on senior status, which means he is only required to work 10-hours-a-week while he continues to receive his undeserved salary of $184,500.

If the ingrate retired from the bench he’d receive $184,500 for the balance of his life; however, if he continues on as a so-called senior status judge, he’ll receive any wage increases that Congress passes. Put simply, the only reason he’s hanging on is to enrich himself even more at taxpayer expense.

What is truly galling is the fact that Wallace isn’t required to pay even one cent into the cost of his 100% lifetime pension. Why aren’t Congress and more importantly the Tea Party legislators raising hell about this abusive giveaway of taxpayer money?
