► U.S. Circuit Judge Don Willett of New Orleans; dyed-in-the-wool Bigot

The state of Texas provided Don Willett with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from Duke University School of Law.

President Donald “Trumporleone” Trump was instructed to nominate Donnie for a seat on the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals even though he wasn’t the most qualified attorney/jurist in the greater New Orleans/Houston area. He got it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

As a former Justice of the Texas Supreme Court, Donnie consistently ruled against same-sex marriage rights, including a June 2017 ruling that same-sex spouses of Houston city workers have no inherent right to benefits under Obergefell v. Hodges, the federal marriage equality ruling. Donnie also mocked a California law relating to transgender students’ participation in school sports.

Donnie bragged that “there is no ideological daylight to the right of me,” and in his 2012 judicial election, he was endorsed by rabidly anti-LGBTQ advocates including Focus on the Family founder James Dobson and Christian revisionist historian David Barton. (Jennifer Bendery)

Despite his obvious bigotry and religious zealotry, every Senate Republican voted to confirm him. Since Donnie is only 53-years old (DOB: 1966) he could well be on the bench as an unqualified bigot for forty or more years.

And lastly, it should be noted that Donnie’s nomination came about due to Judge Emilio Garza retiring in January 2015. The sole reason for Donnie’s appointment was because Sen. Mitch “Moscow Mitch” McConnell refused to allow a vote on Obama’s nomination to fill Tinder’s seat.

As we speak (ca. December 2019), Donnie continues to sit as a judge on the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, Louisiana.
