U.S. Judge Maxine Chesney: California’s 2017 Double Dipping Porker of the Year Winner

The state of California provided Maxine M. Chesney with a law license in 1967 after she graduated from the University of California Berkeley Law School.

Former President Bill Clinton was duped into nominating Jimmy for a seat as a District Court judge for the Northern District of California in January 1995. Maxine wasn’t nominated because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater San Francisco/Sacramento area. She got it because she had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local and state political hacks.

Maxine has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past fifty-years (ca. 1968 thru 2018). Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the San Francisco area was about to offer Maxine a good paying job over the past 48 years.

It should be noted that in June 2009 Maxine opted to assume the position of senior status judge. This meant that she was only required to work 10 hours a week while collecting 100% of a full-time judge’s annual salary, which as of 2018 would be $205,100.

In addition to her annual $205,100 salary, Maxine also collects an annual judicial pension from California of approximately $119,000 and a San Francisco judicial pension of $14,500 for a total of $338,600.

And lastly, if you’re a federal or even a local government employee, wouldn’t you love it if you could take on senior status in your job after 10 years and continue to collect 100% of your pay? Sorry boys and girls!

Even though you’ll never be able to collect this unconscionable financial benefit, you can take solace in the fact that you will be required to continue to pay taxes to support it.
