Former Tax Court Judge Diane Kroupa of Hopkins, MN; serial tax scofflaw

The State of Minnesota presented Diane Lynn Kroupa with a law license in 1986 after she graduated from the University of South Dakota Law School.

Former President George W. Bush was duped into appointing Diane as a U.S. Tax Court judge in 2003. Diane didn’t receive the appointment because she was the most qualified attorney for the position. She received it because she had proven to be a reliable lackey for the political hacks that championed her appointment.

In April 2016, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota reported that a grand jury indicted Diane and her husband with conspiring to evade the assessment of taxes. Both Diane and her husband were charged with:

  • Conspiracy
  • Tax evasion
  • Making and subscribing false tax returns
  • Obstruction of an IRS audit
  • Fraudulently claimed personal expenses as business deductions
  • Failed to report income from a land sale
  • Falsely claimed financial insolvency
  • Concealed documents from their taxpayer preparer and IRS
  • Caused misleading documents to be delivered to the IRS
  • 2004 to 2010 understated taxable income by at least $1 million

All that’s left now is to see how long it takes for Diane to cop a plea so that she will be eligible for a lighter prison sentence.

As we speak (ca. July 2016), Diane practices in the Hopkins, Minnesota area.
