Solicitor Simon Brown of Scotland; ethical misfit

The Law Society presented Simon David Brown with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from the University of Glasgow School of Law.

The Scottish Solicitors’ Discipline Tribunal found Simon guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in professional misconduct
  • Published posts on Twitter referring to Orange Walks in terms which were apt to be categorized as, and likely to be considered, discriminatory, sectarian, derogatory, and offensive in their nature
  • Conduct capable of bringing the legal profession into disrepute
  • Simon’s conduct likely drew negative reaction to his integrity

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Discipline Tribunal punished Simon by gifting him with a complimentary censure and imposed a fine of £6,000.

As we speak (ca. May 2023), Simon practices his so-called brand of law at 22 Eglinton Street in Irvine, Scotland.
