Solicitor Christopher Boland of Tasmania; cheating loser

The Law Society presented Christopher John Boland with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from the University of Tasmania School of Law.

The Legal Profession Board of Tasmania found Chris guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in professional misconduct
  • Failed to advise client of increases in fees and costs he intended to charge
  • Improperly increased fee from $220 an hour to $275 in contravention of a signed fee agreement
  • Improperly increased employed solicitor’s hourly rate from $176 to $220 in contravention of a signed fee agreement
  • Improperly increased office clerk’s hourly rate from $77 to $125 in contravention of a signed fee agreement

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Legal Profession Board punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand, assessed investigative costs of $30,000.00, and ordered he refund $11,300.00 to a former client [victim].

As we speak (ca. February 2022), Chris practices his so-called brand of law at 2 Jervis Street in South Arm, Tasmania.
