Solicitor Paul McGrath of Tasmania; ethical troll

The Law Society presented Justin Patrick McMullen with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from the University of Tasmania School of Law.

The Legal Profession Board of Tasmania found Paulie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in professional misconduct
  • Failed to keep an adequate record of his attendance on his client where instructions for the preparation of a will, enduring power of attorney and
  • enduring guardianship documents were confirmed and executed
  • Failed to obligation to prepare a legally effective will, enduring power of attorney and enduring guardianship
  • Failed to ensure client understood the nature and effect of the documents being prepared on the client’s behalf
  • Failed to assure his client understood the nature and extent of the property being disposed of by the will prepared by Paulie
  • Failed to take steps to assure that the documents Paulie prepared represented the client’s wishes

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Legal Profession Board punished Justin by gifting him with a complimentary caution and ordered that he pay restitution of $500.72 to his client (victim).

As we speak (ca. August 2021), Paulie practices his so-called brand of law at 5 Cattley Street in Burnie, Tasmania.
