Attorney Archimedes Yanto of the Philippines; scofflaw  

 

The Philippine Supreme Court provided Archimedes O. Yanto with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from

 

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines found Archie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • There was a stark irregularity in Archie’s notarization of various documents
  • Archie attempted to blame his secretaries and office staff for the notarization irregularities
  • Failed to observe the highest degree of compliance with the basic requirements of notarial practice to preserve public confidence in the integrity of the notarial system
  • Failed to record proper entries in the notarial register
  • Archie not only violated the Notarial Rules but also the CPR
  • Failed to comply with his duty under Canon 1 of the CPR to uphold and obey the laws of the land (scofflaw)
  • Failed to promote respect for law and legal processes
  • Archie’s delegation to the office staff of his notarial function is a direct violation of Rule 9.01, Canon 9 of the CPR, which provides that "[a] lawyer shall not delegate to any unqualified person the performance of any task which by law may only be performed by a member of the Bar in good standing
  • Exhibited utter disregard for the integrity and dignity owing to the legal profession

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Republic of the Philippines Supreme Court punished Archie by gifting him with a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license. Additionally, he notarial commission was revoked for one year.

 

As we speak (ca. December 2022), Archie practices his so-called brand of law in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines.
