Attorney Albert Villaseca of Philippines; ethical gremlin

The Philippine Supreme Court provided Jocelyn De Leon with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from the University of the Philippines School of Law.

The Committee on Bar Discipline found Albert guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in gross and inexcusable negligence in handling a criminal case
  • Failed to submit a demurrer to evidence on behalf of his client
  • Failed to present any testimonial, object or documentary evidence for the defense of his client
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Exhibited indifference towards the cause of his clients

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Republic of the Philippines Supreme Court punished Albert by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license and issued a warning that similar conduct in the future would be dealt with more severely.

As we speak (ca. June 2021), Albert practices his brand of law in Manila, Philippines.
