The Law Society of New Zealand presented Michael Bryan Meyrick with a law license in 1997.

 

The New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

 

As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

 

Mike’s 1st bite At the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in unsatisfactory conduct
  • Failed to file promised proceedings on behalf of numerous clients
  • Failed to respond to numerous client calls
  • Contingent fee agreements contrary to rules
  • Failed to refund filing fees to numerous clients that he never incurred

As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary $2,000 fine.

 

Mike’s 1st bite At the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to take reasonable care of an appeal on client’s behalf
  • Failed to provide competent representation re: preparation of affidavit

As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
