Barrister Tony Bamford of New Zealand; ethical leprechaun

The Law Society of New Zealand presented Anthony John Dean Bamford with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from Cleveland State University Law School.

The Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal found Tony guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to comply with practice rules
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in unsatisfactory conduct on at least three occasions
  • Provided very poor service to client
  • Cause a four-year delay in acting on client instructions
  • Failed to properly communicate with client
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Failed to advise client to seek independent attorney advice when he learned of possible claim against his firm was eminent
  • Failed to timely respond to client complaint against his firm (Up yours, said Tony!)

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Tribunal punished Tony by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. March 2016), Tony practices with Bamford Law at 321 Hardy Street in Nelson, New Zealand.
