Attorney Mary Donovan of South Milwaukee; convicted forger

The state of Wisconsin presented Mary P. Donovan with a law license in 1992 after she graduated from Marquette University Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Mary guilty of the following misconduct.

Mary’s misconduct took place while she was employed as an assistant city attorney for Beloit. During he employment, Mary was found guilty of forging two documents in two municipal court cases wherein she was the prosecutor. Mary was sentenced to two years of probation for her criminal conduct.

In one matter, Mary moved to dismiss a charge of furnishing alcohol to a minor on false grounds that the defendant, Mary’s friend, had completed a deferred prosecution program, when in fact the defendant had never been referred to the program. Mary then altered a completion certificate from another case for use in her friend’s case and then submitted the forged form to the trial court.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme
Court punished Mary by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2012) Mary practices with Lakeshore Medical Clinic Ltd. at 100 15th Avenue in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
It must be comforting to the good folks in Milwaukee to know that there is yet another convict practicing law in their area compliments of the comedians sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
