The state of Washington presented John G. Gissberg with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of Puget Sound Law School.

The Washington State Bar found Grant guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence
• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to decline or terminate representation as required
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Engaged in the illegal practice of law while license suspended
• Failed to inform mediator conducting mediation that his license was suspended
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Intentional lied to client

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington State Supreme Court punished Grant by gifting him with a complimentary 90- day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. December 2014), Grant practices in the Renton, Washington area.
