Attorney J.J. Sandlin of Prosser, WA; repeat offender

 

The state of Washington presented J.J. Sandlin with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from Tulane University Law School.

 

The Washington State Bar found Sandlin guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Sandlin’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client’s interests
  • Failed to withdraw when withdrawal was necessary

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Sandlin by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Sandlin’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Improperly entered into business transaction with client
  • Acquired an ownership interest in client’s business which was prohibited
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Failed to give client opportunity to seek legal advice re: conflict
  • Improperly obtained an unsecured $5,000 loan from a client

As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Sandlin by gifting him with another complimentary reprimand.
