The state of Tennessee provided Gary Dean Copas with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from the University of Tennessee Law School.

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility Gary guilty of the following misconduct.

Gary’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to respond to discovery requests
• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to appear at several scheduled client meetings

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Gary by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to communicate with client
• Neglected client’s case
• Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct or knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
