Attorney Lagailda Barnes of Oklahoma City; thieving loser

The state of Oklahoma provided Lagailda F. Barnes with a law license in 2003 after she graduated from the University of Tulsa School of Law.

The Oklahoma Bar Association found Lagailda guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Received funds in the amount of $48,496.12 on behalf of her client who was in prison at the time
  • The $48,496.12 came from a probate case
  • Upon the client’s release from prison, he requested all of his remaining funds be delivered to him in a lump sum
  • Initially, Lagailda told the client that the funds were “unavailable,” but eventually admitted she had spent the funds
  • Misappropriated [stole] client funds (thief)
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oklahoma Supreme Court punished Lagailda by gifting her with a complimentary 2-year suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2020), Lagailda practices at 1901 North Classen Blvd South in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
