Attorney Steve Evenson of Lovelock, NV; ethical troll

The state of Nevada presented Steve E. Evenson with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from the University of Pacific McGeorge School of Law.

The Nevada Disciplinary Board found Stevie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • In multiple matters Stevie engaged in conduct that exceeded the bounds of advocacy
  • Called the opposing party derogatory names in open court and
  • Accused opposing counsel of coaching a witness
  • Injured the integrity of the profession by implying that lashing out with name-calling and unfounded accusations is appropriate in a judicial proceeding
  • Conduct injured the efficiency of the judiciary by requiring the court to address the obstreperous behavior instead of focusing on resolving your clients’ disputes
  • Failure to abide by court directives more than ten separate instances
  • Failed to timely submit a proposed Order to the Court in pending matters
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Knowingly caused injury, or potential injury to his client
  • Caused interference, in the form of distraction and delay, with the legal proceeding
  • Knowingly violated a court order or rule (Up yours, said Stevie)
  • Stevie’s clients were injured by the delay in resolution of their proceedings
  • Misconduct injured the efficiency of the judiciary by requiring the court to repeatedly seek to finalize matters which had already been decided
  • After client’s request for relief was granted Stevie failed to submit the proposed Order to the Court
  • Knowingly engaged in conduct that is a violation of a duty owed as a professional and causes injury or potential injury to a client, the public, or the legal system

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and assessed investigative costs of $1,500.00.

As we speak (ca. July 2023), Stevie practices his so-called brand of law with the Evenson Law Office in Lovelock, Nevada.
