Attorney John Cullinane of Frontenac, MO; ethical gremlin

The state of Illinois presented John Stephen Cullinane with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from St. Louis University Law School.

The Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct tending to defeat the administration of justice or to bring the courts or legal profession into disrepute
  • Failed to explain matter to extent necessary to permit client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Represented a client when the representation of that client may be materially limited by the lawyer's own interests without obtaining consent after proper disclosure
  • Gave assistance to another's conduct, when he knew the conduct would violate the Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (February 2017), Johnny practices with The Cullinane Law Firm at 10411 Clayton Road in Frontenac, Missouri.
