Attorney Antonio Abbene Jr. of Revere, MA; ethical gremlin

The state of Massachusetts presented Antonio Abbene Jr. with a law license in 1953 after he graduated from Suffolk University Law School.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Tony guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in a conflict of interest
• Entered into an improper business transaction with client
• Terms of business transaction with client were not fair and reasonable to client
• Failed to give client reasonable opportunity to consult with independent counsel
• Failed to explain matter to extent necessary for client to make informed decision about the representation
• Failed to determine legality of note
• Failed to protect client’s interest

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Tony by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2015) Tony practices at 385 Broadway in Revere, Massachusetts.
