Attorney Richard Davidson, Jr. of Bedford, MA; ethical twerp

The state of Massachusetts presented Richard A. Davidson, Jr. with a law license in 1989.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Richard guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Richard was appointed to represent an incarcerated defendant in the appeal of his criminal convictions. Richard respondent initially communicated with the defendant regarding the status of the appeal, but he failed to reply to four letters that the defendant wrote to him over a three-month period of time. Richard finally replied to the client’s fifth (5th) letter, but falsely denied receipt of the four prior letters.

Richard never filed an appeal brief on the client’s behalf and never filed a motion to withdraw as his attorney. Subsequently, the client’s appeal was dismissed. Richard did not advise his client of the dismissal and did not reply to several attempts the client made to contact him over the next seven months.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Richard’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonition for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Richard by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2013) Richard practices with the Davidson Law Offices at 110 The Great Road in Bedford, Massachusetts.
