Attorney Christopher Brown of West Springfield, MA; ethical troll

The state of Massachusetts presented Christopher J. Brown with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Western New England School of Law.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Chris guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in significant neglect of client matters
  • Repeatedly failed to communicate with his clients
  • After being paid $1,500 upfront to file lawsuit against two parties, he did virtually nothing to prosecute the case
  • Failed to inform his client that the case had been dismissed as a final judgment
  • On the day before client case was scheduled for trial, without the client’s knowledge or consent, Chris verbally agreed with opposing counsel to settle the case for $25,000
  • After the client fired Chris, the $25,000 settlement was set aside, and new counsel recovered $35,000 for the client
  • The client subsequently sued Chris and recovered $55,000 from him
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers punished Teddy by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2022), Chris practices his so-called brand of law with the Mulberry Law Group at 127 Mulberry Street in Springfield, Massachusetts.
