Attorney Samuel Aucoin of Patterson, LA; ethical troll

The state of Louisiana presented Samuel Robert Aucoin with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board found Sammy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to satisfy his MCLE (Mandatory Continuing Legal Education) requirements
  • Filed at least one pleading and notarized a document while ineligible to practice law
  • Submitted altered documentation to the LSBA regarding completion of a CLE court
  • Gave false information regarding completion of the court to the ODC (Office of Disciplinary Counsel)
  • Falsely denied having engaged in the practice of law while ineligible to do so in his sworn statement (aka, perjury)
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Sammy!)

It should be noted that Attorney Misfits in Louisiana are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else because Sammy was never criminally prosecuted for perjury.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Sammy by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2023), Tony practices his so-called brand of law at 600 Wedell Street in Patterson, Louisiana.
