Attorney Cody Williams of Ft. Wayne, IN; idiotic cheater

The state of Indiana provided Cody R. Williams with a law license in 2011 after he graduated from the University of Indiana School of Law.

The Indiana Disciplinary Commission found Cody guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to provide competent representation (idiot)
  • Failed to act with reasonable diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Knowingly made making a false statement of material fact to the Disciplinary Commission in connection with a disciplinary matter (Screw you, said Cody!)
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to keep a deposit and disbursement journal containing a record of deposits to and withdrawals from an attorney trust account
  • Failed to keep sufficiently detailed client ledgers
  • Failed to keep records or ledgers detailing the nominal amount of attorney funds held in a trust account
  • Failed to keep records of electronic disbursements or transfers from a trust account
  • Failed to keep reconciliation reports for a trust account
  • Failed to keep records of electronic disbursements or transfers from a trust account
  • Failed to reconcile internal trust account records with periodic bank account statements
  • Failed to protect client interests upon termination
  • Failed to promptly return to client case file materials to which the client was entitled
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Cody!)
  • Failed to refund an unearned fee (cheater)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Cody by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Cody practices with the Williams’ Law Office at 4714 Parnell Avenue in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
