Attorney Cody Cogswell of Fishers, IN; slacker, loser

The state of Indiana presented Cody Philip Cogswell with a law license in 2009 after he graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law.

FYI: Cooley is ranked as the worst or one of the worst law schools in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools. Proof of such a ranking is the fact that Donald Trump’s former attorney and fixer was none other than convicted felon Michael Cohen.

The Indiana Disciplinary Commission found Cody guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Failed to promptly comply with client information requests
  • Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit a client to make informed decisions
  • Knowingly disobeyed obligation under rules of a tribunal (Up yours, said Cody!)
  • Failed to make reasonable efforts to ensure that the conduct of a nonlawyer employee over whom he had direct supervisory authority acted in accordance with the rules of professional conduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Cody by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As one would suspect, Cody fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.cogswellandassociates.com. Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. October 2020), Cody practices with Cogswell and Associates LLC at East 116th Street in Fishers, Indiana.
