Attorney Peter Alexander of Chicago; convicted of bribery

The state of Illinois presented Peter Charles Alexander with a law license in 1965 after he graduated from DePaul University Law School.

The Disciplinary Commission found Pete guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Over the period of several years Pete paid employees of the Cook County Board of Tax Appeals bribes in exchange for reduced tax assessments for his clients' property
  • Pete was convicted of paying a total of $4,500 in bribes to Donald Erskine and Robert Husty, Deputy Commissioners of the Board of Tax Appeals, and James Woodlock, a computer operator for the Board of Tax Appeals
  • Pete was sentenced to 30 days in a work release program and five years of probation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Pete by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (May 2018), Pete practices at 77 West Washington Street in Chicago, Illinois.

CAUTION: Pete does not carry legal malpractice insurance
