Attorney R. L. Sotorrio of Chicago; cheating loser

The state of Illinois presented R. L. Sotorrio with a law license in 1981.

The Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Sotorrio guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence re: three clients (slacker)
• Failed to respond to client information requests
• Failed to timely refund unearned fees
• Failed to deposit advance payment of fees into client trust account
• Used $4,350 of trust account funds for personal/business purposes

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Sotorrio by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 60-day suspension of his law license.
