Attorney Christian Baril of Carbondale, IL; thief, convicted druggie

The state of Illinois presented Christopher Baril with a law license in 1997.

The Disciplinary Commission found Chris guilty of the following misconduct.

• Converted (stole) funds owed to another attorney
• Represented client when that representation was adverse to his duties to another client
• Knowingly made false statement of material fact to a trial court
• Narcotics-sniffing dog found three-tenths of a gram of marijuana in his car while he was visiting clients at the Dwight Correctional center
• Pled guilty to possession of 2.5 grams of marijuana

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. August 2015), Chris practices with the Law Office of Christian Baril at 207 West Walnut in Carbondale, Illinois.
