Attorney Richard Caro of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; ethical leprechaun

The state of New York presented Richard P. Caro with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from Georgetown University Law School.

The Departmental Disciplinary Committee found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Lied to Bankruptcy Court Special Referee that he had personal served defendant in the case when in fact he handed the papers to a receptionist
  • Special Referee found Dick's testimony to be "confused, disingenuous or downright dishonest, and plainly incredible”
  • Failed to provide contemporaneous time records to support attorney fee claims
  • Destroyed his legible time records

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Departmental Disciplinary Committee punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2017), Dick practices at 62B Jacksons Run, in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
