Attorney Nick Avila Jr. of Denver; convicted felonious druggie

The state of Colorado provided Nick Avila Jr. with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from the University of Denver School of Law.

The Colorado State Bar found Eddy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Convicted on two counts of second-degree forgery
  • Convicted on two counts of conspiracy to commit second-degree forgery
  • Arranged for the unauthorized alteration of two of his clients’ driving records in the State Motor Vehicle Division
  • Charged his clients between $1,500 and $3,000 for altering their driving records
  • Financed a drug operation importing cocaine from Florida to Colorado.
  • In three transactions, Nicky received more than three kilos of cocaine
  • Convicted of one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine
  • Convicted of three counts of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
  • Sentenced to ten years in prison but was released after serving eight years

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Eddy by gifting him, with a complimentary indefinite suspension. However, the comedians on the Court subsequently reinstated Nicki the Felons law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2020), Nicky practices with The Law Office of Nick Avila Jr. at 3031 West 38th Street in Denver, Colorado.
