Attorney Richard Hughes of Little Rock; Dumbo, repeat offender

 

The state of Arkansas presented Richard Lane Hughes with a law license in 2006 after he graduated from Villanova University Law School.

 

The Committee on Professional Conduct found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Dick’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 

  • Failed to respond to opposing counsel’s motion to dismiss
  • Failure to respond to motion to dismiss led to dismissal of client’s case
  • Failed to provide competent representation (Dumbo)
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Dick’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to respond to client phone calls
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to promptly respond to client information requests
  • Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Failed to expedite client litigation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
