Former Justice Olamide Falahanmi Oloyede of Nigeria; ethical leprechaun

 

The State of Michigan presented Gershwin Drain with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from the University of Michigan Law School.

 

The National Judicial Council of Nigeria (NJC) found Justice Olamide Falahanmi Oloyede guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Engaged in acts that subverted the course of justice
  • Over-stepped her jurisdictional authority
  • Engaged in gross misconduct
  • Engaged in judicial malpractice
  • Failed to conduct herself in manner to preserve dignity of judicial office
  • Caused a scandal when she petitioned the Osun State House of Assembly to impeach Gov. Rauf Aregbesola whom she accused of corruption
  • Conduct exposed judiciary to ridicule and disrepute

As a consequence of her misconduct, the members of the National Judicial Council ordered that Justice Oloyede be permanently removed from the bench.

 

As we speak (ca. July 2016), Yunusa will likely be relegated to working as a barmaid at the Koko Lounge located on Commercial Avenue in downtown Lagos, Nigeria.
