Gov. Greg Abbott (TX): Today’s “Screwball” Award Winner
This isn’t the first Award presented to Greg. In the past, he has been the recipient of four (4) Awards in various categories. Those awards are listed at the end of this article and can be viewed by going to the listed categories.
In early January 2016, Screwy Greg proposed several amendments to the U.S. Constitution that would allow states to override Supreme Court rulings and ignore federal laws.
In addition, the Screwball wants change the Constitution so as to block Congress from “regulating activity that occurs wholly within one state,” and to mandate that a supermajority of seven (7) out of nine (9) Supreme Court votes would have to be case before a so-called “democratically enacted law” could be overturned. Greg went on to state:
The Screwball is asking that a constitutional convention be set into motion to propose his asinine amendments even though no amendment to the Constitution has ever been added in such a manner.
What the Screwball is demanding is the right for Texas to discriminate against the gay community by making it illegal for gay couples to marry. If Greg has his way Texas would be able to:
The truth of the matter is that Greg just like his predecessor Gov. Perry would actually like to have Texas secede from the Union. I would suggest that if this is his wish, then he should ask that the voters in California, New York, Illinois and New Jersey vote in the November 2016 election to kick Texas out of the Union. I believe the outcome of that vote would be exactly what Greg is hoping for.
Congrats Greg; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Screwballs”; you are far too humble.
