Former Judicial Commissioner Michael Cross of Bartlett, TN; ethical misfit

The state of Tennessee provided Michael E. Cross with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from the University of Memphis School of Law.

The Tennessee Board of Judicial Conduct found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in an egregious conflict of interest
  • Failed to recuse himself from a case when recusal was mandatory
  • Failed to advise opposing counsel that he was represented by the other attorney for a part time prosecutor position with the Town of Collierville, the month prior to the hearing
  • Dismissed the plaintiff’s case and awarded his friend who had recommended him for a prosecutor’s job $750.00 in fees

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Conduct Board punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2022), Mikey practices his so-called brand of law at 6025 Stage Road in Bartlett, Tennessee.
