Judge Jeff Bivins of Nashville; apologist for Judicial Misfits

Tennessee State Sen. Mae Beavers has pushed for legislation that would remake the manner in which judicial misconduct is investigated and reported in Tennessee.

Ms. Beavers was recently quoted as saying, “I just think it looks bad when you have judges appointed by judges to judge judges.” Praise the Lord. The truth will set you free!

As the chief spokesman for Judicial Misfits in Tennessee, both past, present and future, Judge Jeff Bivins said “it was necessary to have a majority of judges because the panel [judicial misconduct] has to conduct hearings that are in compliance with legal rules.” Clearly, Judge Bivins missed his calling as a standup comedian, right?

Bivins and his cohorts in the Legal Industry have universally praised the jury system as being able to render just decisions in cases involving complicated legal issues. However, when it comes to judging judges, Bivins has the chutzpah to argue that the same members of jury pools in Tennessee are totally incompetent in determining whether a judge is guilty of misconduct.

The only thing that Judge Bivins and his cohorts really fear is being judged by those that they claim to serve and who pay their wages.

Finally, if Judge Bivins’ argument was meritorious, then I suppose he would support legislation in Tennessee mandating that all future jurors in child molestation cases be limited to convicted pedophiles.

Hopefully, the good folks of Nashville wise up and send Bivins packing when he runs for reelection. The time to have the public judge judicial misconduct has arrived!
