Senior Judge William Agin of Canton, MS; repeat offender

The state of Mississippi presented William S. Agin with a law license in 1975 after she graduated from the University of Tennessee Law School.

The Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance found Billy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to issue timely rulings
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to perform judicial duties
• Failed to timely render decision in at least three cases
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
• Engaged in willful misconduct
• Persistently failed to perform judicial duties
• Litigants suffered harm as a result of misconduct
• Litigants incurred unnecessary expenses due to prolonged litigation

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Billy’s First bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand from the comedians sitting on the Mississippi Supreme Court for failing to render decisions in a timely fashion.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Mississippi Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2015), Billy continues to sit as a senior judge by assignment. He also practices law at 128 West North Street in Canton, Mississippi.
