Judge Mary Roberts of Seattle; Dumbo, slacker

The state of Washington provided Mary E. Roberts with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from the University of Washington Law School.

The Washington Commission on Judicial Conduct found Mary guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to dispose of court business promptly by failing to issue timely decisions in multiple cases
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Violated law requiring judges to decide cases within 90 days after each case is submitted to the court for a decision
  • Failed to comply with the law
  • Failed to act in manner promoting public confidence in the judiciary
  • Failed to avoid impropriety or appearance of impropriety
  • Failed to perform judicial duties competently (Dumbo)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Mary by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2017), Mary continues to sit as a King County Superior Court Judge in Seattle, Washington.
