Attorney Howard Douglass of Lexington, TN; repeat offender 

 

The state of Tennesseeprovided Howard Douglass with a law license in 1968 after he graduated from the University of Tennessee Law School.

 

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility found Howie guilty of the following misconduct.

Howie’s 1stbite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Found in contempt of court 
  • Failed t o timely file appellate briefs on behalf of clients
  • Failed to file for extension of time file briefs
  • Failed to communicate with State Attorney
  • Failed to respond to State’s motion to dismiss client’ appeal
  • Failed to appear in court to explain conduct

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Howie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Howie’s 2ndbite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

In one matter, Howie failed to cooperate with ethics investigators by  refusing to respond to a pending complaint filed against him. Put simply, Howie said, “Up yours!)

 

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Howie by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. February 2015), Howie practices at42 South Main Street in Lexington, Tennessee.
