Attorney David Besant of Toronto, CAN; ethical gremlin

The Law Society presented David Charles Besant with a law license  in 1974.

The Law Society of Upper Canada found Dave guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to properly prepare for client trials
• Failed to follow client’s instructions regarding two potential defense witnesses
• Failed to seek client’s instructions in regards to waiving his bail hearing and his 90-day detention review
• Entering a de facto guilty plea by pleading “no contest” to allegations against client, even though client had pled not guilty and maintained his innocence throughout

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee of the Law Society of Upper Canada punished Dave by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2015), Dave practices at 3601 Victoria Park Avenuein Toronto Scarborough Ontario, Canada.
