Justice Peter Smith of London, UK; bullying loser

The state of New Jersey presented Peter Smith with a law license in 1973 after she graduated from Selwyn College Law School  in Cambridge.

In one matter, Peter found it acceptable to remain sitting on a case despite the fact that he had been offered approximately $750,000-a-year deal, which was later withdrawn to quit the bench for private practice. Peter then used the matter to demonstrate his anger in a series of angry outbursts, as the offer collapsed.

Pete’s conduct was strongly criticized by the Court of Appeal, with one senior judge saying it was “wholly inappropriate” for Pete to hear the case as he was more than likely “biased” against the firm of Addleshaw Goddard that had rescinded the $750,000 deal.

An investigation into Pete’s conduct cane about after he refused a request from a partner in Addleshaw Goddard to withdraw from the case that involved the operation of a family trust.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Court of Appeal punished Peter by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2015) Peter continues to sit as a High Court Justice in the Chancery Division in London, England.
