U.S. Judge Walter Smith Jr. of Waco, TX; pervert

The state ofTexas presented Walter Scott Smith with a law license in 1966 after he graduated from Baylor University Law School.

In 1984, President Reagan was duped into appointing Walter as a U.S. District Court judge for the Western District of Texas located in Waco, Texas. Walter didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Waco area.  He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

In late 2014, Dallas lawyer Ty Clevenger filed a federal complaint alleging that Judge Smith had inappropriate sexual contact with a court employee. The complaint further named former Austin Judge Harry Lee Hudspeth in alleging that he failed to act upon the original complaint sent to him when he was the senior district judge.

Clevenger said during a deposition he took from the victim that Judge Smith attempted to sexually assault the woman, which ended her career and caused years of deep depression. At the time, the woman was an employee of the federal district clerk’s office and alleged that Smith called her to his chambers and while she was there he groped her and asked her to have sex with him.

One former employee, who spoke with News 10 on condition that his identity not be released, said when the woman first spoke of the incident, she came to him fir advice. “I told

her to report it to her supervisor … that he was a good man and would do the right, the employee said.

Another former employee testified that at about 8:30 a.m. one morning, Judge Smith called her to his office and she noticed a strong odor of liquor on his breath. She further testified that when she went to his chambers, Smith closed the door, tried to kiss her and put his arms around her.

All that’s left now is to see what if any punishment is meted out by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans.

As we speak (ca. January 2015), Judge Smith continues to sit as District Court Judge in Waco, Texas.
