Attorney Herbert Cohen of DC; ethical leprechaun
The DC Bar presented Herbert Cohen with a law license in 1969.
The DC Bar Counsel found Herb guilty of the following misconduct.
- Continued to represent a client when another client’s interests conflicted
- Failed to keep clients informed about status of legal matter
- Failed to surrender client’s file after being fired
- Failed to make reasonable efforts to ensure his law firm had in place measure giving reasonable assurance t hat all lawyers in firms would conform to rules of conduct
- Failed to properly supervise subordinate attorney
- Responsible for subordinate attorney knowingly making false statements of material fact to a trial court
As a consequence of him misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the DC Bar Counsel punished Herb by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.
