Attorney Herbert Cohen of DC; ethical leprechaun

 

The DC Bar presented Herbert Cohen with a law license in 1969.

 

The DC Bar Counsel found Herb guilty of the following misconduct.

 

  • Continued to represent a client when another client’s interests conflicted
  • Failed to keep clients informed about status of legal matter
  • Failed to surrender client’s file after being fired
  • Failed to make reasonable efforts to ensure his law firm had in place measure giving reasonable assurance t hat all lawyers in firms would conform to rules of conduct
  • Failed to properly supervise subordinate attorney
  • Responsible for subordinate attorney knowingly making false statements of material fact to a trial court

 

As a consequence of him misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the DC Bar Counsel punished Herb by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. January 2015), Herb practices at 900 17th Street in Washington, DC.
