Attorney Bernard Bettis of DC; ethical gremlin

The DC Bar presented Bernard Bettis with a law license in 1975.

The DC Bar Counsel found Bernie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to record contingent fee agreement in writing
• Faield to disburse settlement funds promptly to satisfy third party’s lien
• Placed entrusted funds into account not designated as escrow account

As a consequence of him misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the DC Bar Counsel punished Bernie by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. January 2015), Bernie practices at 1245 Fourth Street SW in Washington, DC.
